State Rep. Fred Miller is dedicated to improving the quality of life for Michigan’s working families. As a State Representative, his priorities include:
- Raising the minimum wage to ensure hard work pays.
- Ensuring all students have access to high-quality education.
- Creating new opportunity for the people of Macomb County.
- Providing affordable prescription drugs to seniors.
- Protecting Lake St. Clair and all our bodies of water from corporations that want to bottle them up and sell them off for profit.
Rep. Miller hold’s a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University’s James Madison College. He is working toward a master's degree in education at Wayne State University.
Work HistoryRep. Miller has served families of Macomb County at all levels of government. He worked as an aide to U.S. Sen. Carl Levin, U.S. Rep. David Bonior and State Sen. Ken DeBeaussaert. He also has worked as a substitute teacher in several Macomb County public school systems.
FamilyRep. Miller and his wife, Jennifer, live in Mount Clemens.
Community InvolvementRep. Miller serves on the Macomb County NAACP Executive Board and is an annual member of the Interfaith Center for Racial Justice's Martin Luther King Day Celebration Committee. He has worked on mission projects with the United Methodist Church in the Appalachian region and in Costa Rica, where he helped build a school, rebuilt homes for disadvantaged families and constructed an agricultural co-op. He also has worked with the Clinton Township Goodfellows to raise money and provide clothes and toys for underprivileged children.
