LANSING – State Rep. Fred Miller (D-Mount Clemens) is offering two free 2006-07 directories to help families with their travel and holiday plans now that summer is just around the corner and the travel season gets under way. The two guides are the Michigan Lodging and Tourism Directory and the Michigan Campground Directory.
"For many Macomb County families, the warmer weather is all about enjoying Michigan's beautiful outdoors and traveling to visit friends or seeing tourist destinations," Miller said. "These two guides are a great resource that will give families some great ideas for their travel plans, whether looking for a campground by the lakeshore or reasonably priced hotels."
The 2006 Michigan Campground Directory lists more than 200 campgrounds, RV parks and cabin resorts across the state. Each entry includes contact information, location, amenities and nearby attractions. A publication of the Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds, the directory can also be viewed online, at www.michcampgrounds.com.
The 2006 Michigan Lodging and Tourism Directory lists hotels, bed and breakfasts, inns and motels in cities throughout the state. The directory also describes Michigan's diverse regions and lists major attractions. A publication of the Michigan Hotel, Motel and Resort Association, the guide can also be viewed at www.michiganhotels.org.
To receive the free guides, contact Miller's office at (877) DIST-031 or by e-mail at fredmiller@house.mi.gov.
This year, summer officially begins June 21, Wednesday, at 8:26 a.m. EDT.
