What we need in the State of Michigan is a statewide energy policy for the 21st century. That energy policy should include at least three things: Education, conservation, and innovation. Education: we need to teach our young people how important energy issues are, and how it’s important to conserve. Conservation: we all need to do our part and save energy, in our cars, in our homes, and in our daily usage. And innovation, in the State Legislature, we need to encourage companies to innovate and adopt new technologies and alternative fuel sources to reduce our dependence on foreign oil.
